Talking Oh yea

finally got around to getting it done. I have 12,000 miles on my truck, yesterday changed it over to synthetic oil and added the K&N air filter. I will have to sy that the filter helped the throttle response, as for the oil it does seem to make it run a little smoother. thanks to all the great info. on this site it made it easier to make the decision.

thank you everyone.

Randy, your diffs allready have synthetic! I wouldn't touch them yet... As for the engine you don't need to do anything but change the oil and filter. The article I was talking about had a 1983 F250 4x4.

I installed the K&N filter at 90 miles (after I returned from the dealership) and Synthetic oil at 1,000 miles. No problems at all and the truck runs great!

I also noticed the slight improvement in the throttle response with the filter...but add a superchip and see what happens to it.....WOW!

I have an article somewhere around here in my mess, from a 4wd truck magazine. The article is to help 4x4 owners with MPG. They said to change all your oils to synthetic, especially in the diffs (it will run alot cooler -Our Ford trucks have synthetic oil in the diffs.). Thats one reason why I use synthetic oil, I will soon use synthetic in my 5-speed.

This site is great!!!
