JET Performance Module vs. Superchip
I need some help here. I want to replace the stock ECU chip with an aftermarket one for my 2000 Expedition with the 5.4L V-8 (stock 260hp version).
As far as I know, Hypertech doesn't make a chip/module for the 2000 5.4L, so I'm left with either JET or Superchips.
Who prefers JET and who prefers Superchips and why?????
Thanks for the help.

I tried a Jet chip 2 years back and couldn't get the check engine light to go out. I sent it back the same day. I've heard several times since that the Jet chips for Fords are a sham. They simply don't do a thing. If you do a search, you will find many happy Superchip users on this board. I personally don't have one, so I can't comment. But, I would recommend that you avoid Jet.
P.S. If you hear anything positive about Jet products, they tend to be on Chevy products. Apparently, their chips work for GM cars and trucks.

About a year and a half ago I decided I wanted to add a chip to my '95 F150. I contacted the Superchips gentleman that frequents these mb's, and he said that for my specific ECM, he would have to burn one for me. I then contacted a good friend of mine at Hawaii Racing, and he said he had seen a circular from JET that claimed their new Ford chips were "new and improved custom JET chips", and worked great. He had no first hand experience with them though, and told me I was on my own. I decided to give it a try, and have been very pleased. I can't say if it would out perform a Superchip or not since I never got the chance to try one, but I can say that I have no regrets.
Take care,

I just installed a Superchips chip in my truck about a month ago. I couldn't be happier with it. The shifts improved and the increase in power is noticable. My particular chip is a flip chip programmed to not only increase performance but to correct my speedometer for the larger tires I run in the summer. Mike Troyer from Performance Products will give you plenty of input if you contact him. Good luck,

Thanks everyone for your inputs.
I just visited the Superchips website and found out that they don't show a chip for the 2000 5.4L 260HP engine for the Expedition. They only show chips for the 1997-1999 5.4L 230HP engine.
So am I really only left with JET as my choice? I would still like to hear everyone's inputs on which is better (and their reasons).

HI!... RJ : SUPERCHIPS does make a chip for your truck. Go over to the 'COMPUTER CHIPS" section and ask MIKE TROYER about your application and computer code. He is the local superchip distributor on this site. P.S : It probably does'nt show your application on the SUPERCHIPS website because their site is hardly ever updated, and when they did it last, someone bunched up all the H.P figures. Only some of the #'s on the charts are right. I'm surprised no one has fixed it yet. On the "P.I" (power improved) 5.4"s you will gain 28H.P and 46FT/LBS of TORQUE, raise your shift points, increase tranny shift firmness, and eliminate the top speed limiter. To get these gains with the SUPERCHIP you must run at least 92 octain ALL THE TIME, unless you get a "FLIP-CHIP". Ask MIKE TROYER, he can answer ALL your questions about computer chips. I hope this helps you out.
