Cool Gas Milage 4.2L V6

I have a 2000 F-f150 with about 10500 miles on it. I drove it from houston to lake charles going between 80-90 mph and averged about 16.5. this is what i get after I instaled flowmaster exauste system. this seem to help the power and the gas a little bit. Around town I average about 13, I sure hope this will go up some.

Good to know RandyGreen but what gears do you have because I get 20 MPG on highway (at 85mp/h average). My truck is the 5-speed and with 3.08 gears, I guess I lucked out. All I have done so far was a K&N filtercharger (stock) and a tonneau cover.

I got my '97 4.2, 3:55, auto right before last Christmas. I have only filled up three times since. (third one was last night) My mileage has been as follows:
First tank: 90% highway at 70-75 mph: 20mpg.
Second tank: all city, four miles one way to work at 35-40 mpg: 14 mpg.
Third tank: same driving as second, but after the exhaust pipe/muffler TSB had been done: 15 mpg.

Cool

I have a 3.55 with a 5 speed manual.I am thinking about adding a superchip, but i have heard there is a better way to get better results. I have to find out the exact details but they can reprogram the computer and add about 30 hp. They say it does not improve the gas but does not hut either.

Hey RandyGreen, As soon as you get details please let me know, I've never heard of this before. I'm currently saving for a SuperChip because it seems to work well from all the good things I hear about it from here.

Your best bang for the buck IS the superchip. You will have plenty of people in here say this. I will be adding one soon. Be careful about people that state things with no real data. Go to the computer chips section here and ask Mike. This guy knows his stuff and WILL NOT give you false data. Good luck.........
