Angry Driving Problems

I have a 1997 F150 with 4.6 motor I have approximate 50,000 miles on it . The problem I have when i am going down the highway at 60 mph the truck will die and then surge it does not miss (the best that I can tell) and I do not have check motor light. Could it be the trany?

Have you changed your fuel filter yet I'd try that first then go from there. I just changed mine out the other day after 42,000 miles on the origanal one I wasn't having any trouble with it but decided to change it before I did since it was due for one.

Fuel Filter also comes to mind although my experience w/ filter probs is that it hesitates at slow speeds and is ok at higher speeds.
Don't know if this will help but i would unplug the battery for three hrs to allow the computer to clear. These rides are so computer-dependent that it may need "rebooting"... that and a couple of "Hail Marys" never hurt
