Check spark plug after 45,000 miles
I managed to get one plug out of my 97 4.6 and the gap was about .062 after 45,000 miles. I regapped this one to .055, book says .052/.056. I would assume my remaining 7 plugs are at .062, maybe higher. Is this too wide? I though these plugs were suppose to last 100,000 miles (haha). What does it cost to have plugs replaced? Looks like a night mare job. Maybe when it is time to replace plugs you have to replace the truck.
Also, it looks like any dirt or trash around the modled rubber wire connector would fall into the cylinder if not cleaned on the outside real well before pulling the wire off.
