4.6 HP Disspute
I have only met *ONE* salesman out of a dozen or more that knew much of anything about the F-150. I *ALWAYS* end up teaching them.
Ford man is right..these guys are. for the most part, not very up to speed on the F-150...in my experience.

This is from the '98 FORD factory shop manual:
The eighth VIN position is the engine displacement and number of cylinders.

Guess what? That was the information provided by the factory. You can't buy the Ranger with a diesel engine domestically either, the F250LD with the V6 was most likely sold overseas. Take it up with Ford if you don't like it.
I print something VERBATIM from a FORD FACTORY SHOP MANUAL and you sit there and say it's wrong. If you want to question it, go to Dearborn, I'm sure they're ANXIOUSLY AWAITING your critique. Perhaps you can get a writing credit on the next shop manual for F150 pickups that Ford issues.
Hey DUMBASS, take it up with Ford!! The information was printed to reflect what was in the '98 Ford service manual, not to ask your opinion. As I said, it was more than likely marketed overseas. Got it, DUMBASS? Do I need to repeat it anymore? You can't just walk into a dealer and buy a diesel powered Ranger either, because that's sold overseas! Do you want to call that into question as well?!! See page 100-01-4 of the 1998 F-150, F-250 workshop manual. Anymore STUPID questions or comments? What, EXACTLY, are your credentials? Do YOU work for Ford? Is your name somewhere in the credits for the writing and publication of this shop manual? I sure as hell wasn't asking for your HALF-ASSED opinion of right or wrong when I decided to post the info, DUMBASS!!!
I believe there should be an '-' between the 'B' and 'A' in the word you're using. Otherwise the word appears to be
'DUM BASS'.
Of course, if you got this word out of an official Ford shop manual then, I stand corrected.
You did use the hyphen correctly in your 'half-assed' attempt though.

I want to know why some moronic salesman can tell you some c-o-ck 'n bull BS about how he "knows" your pickup has some special engine and you blindly and implicitly believe him with NO proof whatsoever, yet you want to question something from Ford, in writing, written by engineers and techs, who KNOW engines and vehicles and have nothing to gain by lying to you? Why is that? HUH?
