Does anyone know where the engine block heater is located on a 2000 5.4l F-150.

Also is it possible to buy one from the dealer and install it myself. Has anyone done this......

I know where the plug is on my truck and that was all I was basicly interested in finding. I've got a different engine from you, so my finding the heater probably wont help you anyways. If you've got some time, why don't you try going to Ford Service dept and asking them to show you. They can also answer your questions about getting one and installing it. Sorry, I can't be of more help.

My 5.4L was replaced with a new 2000 5.4L in Oct. of '99. I had the factory block heater on the '99. When the 2000 5.4L was installed, the dealer ordered the Ford block heater and plugged it into the existing cord.

The heater is installed in the rear driver's side frost plug on the block and the cord is ran along the frame to an opening in the front bumper. You should be able to order the complete block heater and cord from Ford Parts. Hope this helps.
