Question towing capacity

My father in law recently got a 1999 f150 w/5.4 and towing package. He is interested in getting a travel trailer and wasn't sure of the maximum weight he could tow? I told him that I knew a place to get ALL his answers.

Do all of the towing packages come with the same gear ratio in the differential? If so what is it? If not I will get back to y'all with the axle code.

Thanks -- Martin

Mine is 8300 lbs with the 3.55.
I think a supercab is 200 lbs less and 4x4 a little less than that.

I wouldn't want to do max towing though.

You can tell your Father-in-law he has the 'Mother of All Radiators'.
(I'll duck now )

We really need to know if it's a Reg Cab or SC, if it's a 4x4 or 4x2, and what the rear axle ratio is. For the axle ratio, find out what the axle code is from the door plate and we can figure it out.
