Whats' the deal with gas tank?
My 1999 5.4L Expy will not allow me to put more than 20 gallons in at any time. I RAN out of gas yesterday and when I finally got to the gas station (I added 2 gallons on the road) the tank would only accept 17 gallons. I then spoon fed another 2 gallons. This happens all the time so I know it was not the gas station. I think that there is something wrong with the float or the fuel sensor. Anyone else?
I have heard of air being in the top of the tank causing this.

Sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order! Very interesting! I have not heard of this problem.
I have a friend who has a new Excursion ..and his fuel guage can be at a 1/4 tank..then one second later..it will register empty and the truck will die. DOH! He carries a small fuel can with him..this has happened twice. I also told him..take it back and have it looked at.
