If you had two identical trucks...as in both 4x4 autos, extended cab short boxes I think the Ford and Chevy would be pretty close. The Ford would get a quicker start off the line but it wouldnt take too long for the Chevy to catch up and it may pull ahead given the room. The Chevy has more HP but its not nearly as useable as the Fords. I dont know what GM was ever thinking when they put the LS-1 engine in a truck. Its a high revving engine that belongs in a Corvette or Camaro...not a truck. Thats why I love my 350...strong, tried and true.

On my way home form work yesterday I had a chance to smack down a teenager in a "my daddy gave me it" 96-97 Z-71. This kid is always messing with me on the way home, but I never had a chance to shut him up. The story goes ---> sitting a stop light and what do I hear??? The sound of Snoop Dogg drowning out the sound of my flowmaster. He looked over from the next lane and reved his engine up to what had of been 9000k. I ducked in fear of a flying rod from his motor and smiled "bout damn time" light turned green and that was the last I saw of him till the next light. He rolled up his window and would not look at me, but his girlfriend did yes true story even the rap music part.

I keep hearing references to the 5.3L chevy being an LS-1 engine but aren't the 5.7L the LS-1's?
