Possible phaser issue or timing has jumped?
Possible phaser issue or timing has jumped?
Hey fellas so heres the issue. I just purchased a 2006 f150 with a 5.4. I bought it for a good price knowing it had a misfire issue but it was very clean. I got it back to my shop, put it on the scanner and came up with the following codes,
p0349
p0345
p0352
p0356
p0353
p0358
You can unplug any of the drivers side coil packs with it running and there is no change. Truck is running extremely rough, misfiring badly and barely revs. I realize its going to be a timing issue, I did replace both vct solenoids and all the coil packs just to rule that out and they needed to be done anyway as they looked original. Spark plugs were all recently changed by the previous owner and looked good. Im thinking one of the phasers is broken or it may have jumped a tooth? It does have 160,000 miles on it and I am not sure if they ever did chains, guides and phasers. Any input?
