Sensor on engine leaking oil. 2012 f150 5.0


I just started noticing more and more oil around the area of this sensor just not sure what the sensor is and best way to replace it. 2012 f150 5.0 143k

Those are your VCT solenoids, not sensors. The seals have hardened and begun leaking.

Replacement of the seals requires the valve cover to be removed, the old seals pressed out, and new seals pressed in or you can purchase a complete valve cover directly from Ford with new seals already installed.

I would clean it up well, and then be sure it's not just from careless oil changes or a leaky filler cap.

If it's not that, then I would proceed to go further.
