Code p1289 after engine swap.

Hey there everyone. I have just finished the 4.6 to 5.4 engine swap on my friends 2002 f150. Getting a code p1289 and no temperature indication on the gauges. The connector is different from any sensor that I have been able to find. My friend sold the original engine and I think the original cht sensor was left that engine. I got what was supposed to be the correct one from oreillys and installed it. I am guessing that it is not the correct sensor. Can anyone identify the picture of the original sensor connector? I have attached it. Maybe I am looking at the wrong connector but it is the only one left and it is the correct length to reach the sensor.

The engine is from a 2000 Expedition. Full rebuild by a local machine shop. I am using all of the original harness from the 4.6. I would have used the original sensor but he sold the engine before I got everything removed.

Those 2 engines use the same sensor. However, if there's a connector issue, this should work:

Thanks GLC, The connector has keys in different locations than the factory sensor images I have been able to locate. There is always the possibility that the new sensor that I installed is bad. I am not 100% that is the correct connector however. Do you know what the wire colors are for the cht on a 2002 4.6 ? I have not been able to find anything that matches the colors on this truck.

The item I linked comes with a connector and pigtails. All you have to do is cut and splice.

I picked up a new sensor and pigtail from the dealership. I will let you know how it goes.

Tip: When you cut and splice it, solder the wires and heat shrink it. Don't use butt/crimp connectors, etc.
