I have been looking around and I cannot find a solid sticky on v8 options for my 03 f150. It has the 4.6 in it. What I am wondering what are my options. My original thought was to make an ext cab lightning clone. But is the 4.6 worth modding? I could have sworn some where i read that it wasnt since its an under powered v8. I know that the lightning comes with the 5.4/4r100. I have also read up on the coyote swap which seems like the most expensive stock motor route. Are there any options that are a direct bolt with the 4r70 that are worth it? If the 4.6 is worth building then Ill use that as my foundation but if not I would like to start with a solid foundation. Also if this thread exists already my bad I couldnt find it.

Direct bolt would be a 5.4 2 valve swap. Read through this thread:

Your 4R70W will work fine.

 

Another option if the 4.6 is in good condition is to add a hair dryer type supercharger. They should be available for that engine.
