4.6 identification and is a P.I engine a windsor or Romeo ?
Ok, its not a F-150 but its a 4.6 sohc
i recently bought a 1999 Crown Vic P71 police interceptor it has 13-14 valve cover bolts, the oil fill cap is on the Driver's side and it has the P.I intake and heads, im trying to find out what engine and year i have exactly, there's no sticker under the alternator like i was told to look for, how can I identify what i have, what year it is and if its a Romeo or Windsor
also is a P.I a Windsor , a Romeo or both
Im getting mixed information with the oil fill cap location and the number of valve cover bolts ?

Ok I think the mystery has been solved Scoob. My engine is a 1999 Windsor 4.6 P.I engine, it was very common for crown vics to have the driver's side oil cap, and being that my car was built in Canada its not far fetched that it would have a Windsor 4.6 and the vin is wrong, i was searching truck , mustang and crown vic pages thinking a 4.6 was a 4.6, I guess the application can make subtle differences, thank you for your help and support and allowing me in 😎👍 im straight now
