2004 f150 5.4l 3v p2004, p2106...
Hello - I had written a longer post with history of truck but it got "lost" so II'll post the short version...
Bought 2004 F150 4x4 a couple weeks ago after my 91 4.9L F150 was having trouble pulling my boat out of the water.. A few blocks from the dealer the CEL came on.
Supposedly engine has "low miles" although the truck has about 210K.
Aside from problems with 4x4, ABS & restraint modules, I;m getting P2004 and P2106. The 2106 is my main concern because it's causing forced limited power (no power).. I have replaced the TPS and the throttle position actuator - after cleaning throttle body (it wasn't dirty). Still getting code and LIMP mode. FORscan shows that the throttle plate angle is within a degree or less from where it should be. Only weird thing I see is that the pedal sensor shows like 78% when on the floor.
P2004 IMRC problem: The goober who changed the engine out had wires twisted all around the IMRC linkage. With a borscope type thing and a couple hours of feeling around back there I was able to get the linkage freed up. I thought my IMRC problems would be gone but still have the code. I put video scope on IMRC and drove truck and saw no movement (but the limited power won't let me get above like 2500RPM so maybe there shouldn't be any movement???
I'm almost thinking I may have a bad PCM or maybe there is something in the wiring???
Any help appreciated!
Thank you-
