P0315 code

I have a 03 f150 super crew 4.6 engine 174k on the dash I literally just got it about 2 weeks ago ,

well upon purchasing there was no check engine light on at all ( not sure if it was reset or what ) I started noticing a slight vibration here and there when the truck was slowing down ( no brakes applied) so I thought maybe the drive shaft was acting up and after doing some research . Pulled the drive shaft down and inspected it, looked ok to me u joints where fine no play , so I applied some grease to the slip yoke and put it back on , test drove it the next day and the check engine light comes on , And this is only after putting about a 100 miles total on it since I got it . Got the code scanned and it said p0315 cps not learning . I asked the people who I got the truck from has any work been done to the truck they said no but before and cps code has popped up before but it went away , I never told them the code that showed up either , so where can I go from there ? Sorry for the long paragraph but I needed to put this information in to state my issue ? Thanks

I’ll check it out I tried doing the re learning by driving it up to 65 and letting it drop to 30 without the brakes but not sure if it worked because the light came back on after I let the cable off the battery for a bit , was hoping someone has experienced this situation before

Took it to a mechanic and he cleared to the code and wanted to see if it would comeback on , drove it about 20 minutes up the road and it started making this noise right here . ( see video link )

it wasn’t making this noise before and it randomly just started
Any help on that the noise could be ?

thanks for the reply taking a look at the video now
this just randomly started happening so I’m wondering if the previous owner put something in the engine so it wouldn’t make the noise for a while ? Or is that even possible?

That video doesn't apply to the 4.6 2 valve.

Sounds like my son in law's 98 with a 4.6 when a few lifters collapsed. You won't really know what's going on till you pull the valve covers and front cover. If you like the truck, it may be time to look into a rebuild. He sold the truck for $1800.

😬 I hope not I literally just got the truck and paid a decent amount for it and really don’t want invest a crazy amount into it all , well I just went outside and crunk it on a cold start and it’s not doing it 🤔 maybe it’s something that happens when the engine gets warmed up and the oil gets hot ?

That video may or may not apply. It still has OHC and cam followers I presume?

Maybe you should try this?

Sorry for not updating , I woke up the next day and the truck wasn’t making the noise . So I drove it a few days and the check engine light randomly went off , it’s been over a week light came back on for the same code and it’s making the noise again 😔

It's located on the right lower side of the timing chain cover, behind the air conditioning compressor.
