Throttle Body Codes!! Please help.. 2006 F150 STX V8 4.6L

I was driving my truck one day when it died while stopping at a roundabout. Before this day it wasn’t shifting past 2nd gear. Initially I thought it was the alternator as I had to have it recently rebuilt and figured the guy did a bad job, therefore I changed it along with the battery and belt. Nothing. Originally I couldn’t scan anything because it seems as my PCM was burnt out of which I replaced then I scanned the truck and Throttle Body codes came up (about 8) so I cleaned it out and tried again, nothing. Changed the TPS, nothing. Frustrated now, I then changed the entire throttle body, STILL NOTHING.

I scanned again and a new code shows up, CamShaft Position Senor, changed it out without anything changing. I check the plugs as the codes say the Throttle Body is stuck open/idle/limited RPM and basically putting the engine in Limp Mode.

When I attempt to start the engine, it starts for two or three second then cuts out and doesn’t rev when I press the gas pedal. I admit I had a temporary battery that was not up to the amperage that I assume burnt things out. The fuel pump seems fine and doesn’t throw a code. I’ve reset the brand new PCM and also deleted the codes via scanner; only one code P2107 shows up after until I try to start it. I disconnected the Throttle Body and Cam Sensor and it shows three codes.. related to Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor B.. could this be a simple relay or fuse problem?

I have no idea where to go from here.. please help.

It may be the rheostat on the gas pedal itself.

Or the PCM needs to be reflashed or replaced. I'd do that at last resort.

I bought a brand new PCM and replaced it programmed to my truck.

Sorry, I missed that.

Did you happen to check the wiring to everything? Including connectors? It's easy to bend pins on certain things.

Its no problem, I just appreciate the help. Trying to figure this out is a goal of mine. I checked the connector going to the Throttle Body Sensor which made sense to me if most/all the codes a throttle body related. The wires themself go into a casing and then to the PCM. Maybe I need to check the pins in the connector to the PCM? What else connections can I check?

Have you checked the throttle actuator on the pedal itself?

Find it, make sure it's not disconnected or loose or damaged in some way. A factory shop manual *should* have a test procedure, but I'm not familiar with it at all, I just know it's there.

So as I promised, I tried it and took out the plug and checked it. I then took out the air filter and my truck started to run and didn’t turn off until I turnt it off to try delete the codes. However after I did that, it went back to what it was doing.

I used the live data feature on my scanner (I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before) and depressed the acceleration pedal and the percentages went up accordingly, so I think it’s safe to say that works. It still will not allow me to rev and the P2107 is still the most consistant code.

Seen this several times. It’s the TPS sensor on the throttle body. Buy you a new throttle body with the new sensor and you’ll be good to go

I had, I bought a TPS originally on the old TB. When that didn’t work a bought an entirely new Throttle Body with Actuator and TPS.. so presently I’m in possession of three TPSs. The old, the replacement and the one that came with the new Throttle Body.
