Reset PCM?

Hello- I’m brand new here- please bear with me as I know absolutely nothing about cars or trucks- but I love my 2000 f150 5.4 - I actually replaced the original starter myself over the weekend and it was a huge success (for me&#129315 but I notice here the past two day a little rough idle and acceleration- very mild but noticeable- the battery had been disconnected of course for at least 3 days during the process of doing the starter- do I need to maybe reset the PCM or is the truck just trying to ‘relearn’?

It will relearn after a few drive cycles.

Drive it for about 100 miles and see what occurs.

If it gets worse, report back.

Ok- sounds good- I just thought it was awfully coincidental- I have no check engine lights - I was told I might have a bad coil or catalytic converter because I’m getting a sulfur odor from tailpipe but the engine isn’t running hot either- I’ll keep an eye out- thank you very much for a quick reply- this seems like a great place to be👍

How many miles are on the spark plugs? You should probably get a muffler shop to check the cats for excessive backpressure.

ALOT!!! The odometer quit when I bought it recently but 190k at least- I’m assuming they are original plugs- I will see about the back pressure as well- but again I find it awfully coincidental that this just now has started after we put the new starter on- I just drove it again and the idle seems worse but up to speed as fast as 65 I don’t feel or here anything

That's WAY too many miles on the plugs, CHANGE THEM! Use only MOTORCRAFT plugs and torque them to 28 ft/lb. Be prepared to change one or more coils too, use Motorcraft, Denso, or Delphi. Put some Techron in the gas to clean the injectors.
