Ok friends I need some help. My ‘05 4.6 has been shooting that fuel level sensor code for nearly a year now. Now the fuel gauge is being erratic. Not wanting to drop the tank, I cut a hole in the bed to access the pump. I love ford trucks but those plastic quick connect fittings they use suck hard. The type II are the biggest pain. After finally getting them off and struggling with the lock ring, the pump was loose. And then I discovered there is a line underneath the pump that needs to come off to allow pump removal and you guessed it, it is a type II. Try as I may, I just couldn’t get it off and I’m not easily discouraged. I put it all back together so I could research further. Any suggestions? Can I cut the line and couple it back together?
