Spark Plug Issue 5.4L



I pulled the #1 spark plug on my 2002 F-250 5.4L what is this attached to the plug and I believe it is the wrong plug in the motor . any input would be great

That's a cheap insert for stripped threads. You need a Timesert, maybe even a Bigsert. That is definitely the wrong plug for that engine.

I was thinking the same thing! 2002 F-250 5.4L produced are 2V, the 3v came out in 2004

That's a 3v plug in some kind of crappy insert. You better check the rest of them. If you can thread the correct plug in and put 28 ft/lb on it without stripping out, you may be okay. If not, it's Timesert time.
