08 4.6L interchange?

Hey everybody. I just picked up a high miles 08 SuperCrew 4x4 with what sounds like a bent valve for $900. I'm trying to look around and weigh my options in regards to replacing the motor with something a little lower mile. Doing this on a budget so I'm trying to weigh my options and I'm wondering what other 4.6Ls will interchange with mine? What's different between say a late model crown Vic motor and an F150 motor? Will any W code drop in or is that solely a reference to where they built the block?

I've built and swapped a bunch of Ford and Chevy pushrod motors and while I'm mildly acquainted with modular motors this is my first large job with one other than pulling an older 5.4L out of a van several years ago.

Thanks guys!

2006-2010 4.6 2 valve out of a F150 is an exact match. Any other 4.6 2 valve can be made to work with your intake and exhaust manifolds and possible oil filter relocation. I wouldn't go any older than 2002.

Thank you guys!

I'm gonna pull the head on the existing motor and see what kind of damage is in there, and then go from there. If the cylinder wall is clean and the piston is reasonably usable I might just replace the valve, or the head, but we'll see what happens when I get the truck into the shop.
