Harley oil burn

Hello, I have 2003 F150 Harley with of course the 5.4 sc engine. I purchased the truck almost a year ago due to health reasons I was unable to drive for some time. Now I can finally enjoy my truck. I have smoke and burning oil. I have heard about oil blow by through the intake from pcv system. How do I fix it?? Thank you in advance

Hard to believe that the oil spec for that SC engine is a 5w-20. Yet in later years, Ford switched the oil spec for the same SC engine to a 15-50 oil due to oil dilution with the SC. I'd do one of two things, either change the oil to a 15w-50 or 15w-40 if you feel more comfy using it, or change to the Pennzoil Yellow Bottle 10w-30 as it has the lowest NOACK of any oil out there including the high dollar synthetics. Providing you don't have cold startups at minus 25C, any of these oils will do great in keeping the oil usage down and probably stop it with a few thousand miles of use.
