I have 99 f150 that I absolutely love. Though the motor is messed up. I have looked everywhere for a 99 5.4l v8 engine but I can not find one anywhere. I have found a 04 expedition 5.4l v8 with only 60,000 miles on it. It's a very clean nice engine. I am trying to find out if I can swap the engine. Can anyone please help me.

 

Yes, it's compatible. There may be some components that also have to be swapped, but it should be doable without too much hassle.

 

thank you. The expedition engine is a 2V the same as my original engine. Everyone I talked with continued telling me it wouldn't work. They continued telling me only a 99 engine would work but I did not understand fully why when everything was the same. I know some things will have to be adjusted and redone.

 

There may be some sensor differences, accessory bracket differences, etc. but nothing earth shattering.

If your 99 has an aluminum intake, KEEP IT! The 04 is plastic. Compare the exhaust manifolds too.
