Thumbs down No Response from Engine factory

I took my truck in on December 8th for the Piston Slap problem, the service tech verified the slap, and said he contacted the Engine Plant. I spoke to the service dept. yesterday, and the writer told me that they have not received any word back from the engine plant. It has been almost a month, has it taken anyone else this long to receive word from the plant? I am also worried that if I wait to long they will start putting FQR motors in the 99's. Any ideas?

My tech got the word in less than a week.

More diagnosis is required, so I don't know how long it will take to order.

THEY ARE ALREADY PUTTING FQR'S IN 99'S..BEWARE. They gave me one and I'm still fighting it.

It only took one call by the shop foreman to Ford control to get the ball rolling with my P.S

My 4.6 blew on Jan 02 1999. The plant did not return the calls, for about a week. Then once they did it was installed two weeks later. Thats three weeks total. But I also sent a nice worded " I am upset" e-mail to ford. Canadian truck, Ford of Canada, and I did not pay the loaner fee or insurance for it. I was told that the plant authorizes this replacement, and because of holidays, no one was in at the time,,,Romeo plant.

I took my truck in monday for piston slap and they said that it was making noise. Then thay told me they want it for another day,so they can try something the engine plant said to do.
What are they up to? Do they always take this long to figure out whats wrong?

When I took mine in, they listened to the engine and then they asked for my permission to go in through the oil pan with a little camera to look at the cylinders. They never ended up doing this though because the extended warranty guy took one look at my newly installed supercharger (2 weeks on the truck) and immediately said, "Claim denied..."

I don't know if they're planning something similar with your truck (camera)...

I got my truck back (3 days later) today and it was decided that the piston slap was not loud enough for them to replace the engine.HA!! I hope they don't think I'm going to stop here!
