Question need advice on mainteance,19,000 miles on 2001 screw

first time posting some-thing in here,my question is what should i do now that i have 19,000 on 2001 screw. i have the 4.6 and up to this point the only mainteance i've done is change the oil every 3,000 miles, motor craft filter and castrol 5-30w.
the last few week's i feel like the engines hesitates to pick up rpm's i'am planning to install 40 series delta flow f/m and k@n filter in the next couple of week's for extra h/p but besides that can any one tell me what kind of mainteance i could do to keep the truck in good conditon's
thank's in advance!

Wink

No mention of an air filter change or fuel filter change. Those could be contributing to the hesitation problem.

Thumbs up

Hey there!

I currently have the Airaid FIPK w/ K&N Filter. I just recently noticed the same thing with my 5.4

Here's what I did.
Disconnected Neg. Battery terminal to reset the ECU.
Removed my K&N and knocked out the loose dirt. Note I didn't recharge it yet. Removed my MAF and GENTLY cleaned the element wire with a Q-tip and Windex. Filled her up with some good gas, and drove it like I stole it for 200 miles. LOTS of going through the gears at WOT. Changed the oil.

She is running like new.

Sounds like it's time for that air filter, 20k miles on the factory one is a little much, obviously, pending on where you live...
After that, or during, before, whatever, try a fuel additive. Something like Castrol's or whatever, a fuel system cleaner (STP I use) that will also help with the hesitation.

I say do your oil changes the way you been and do the air about every 20,000 and change your fuel filter by 50,000 if not before.
