dealer says: Superchip,JBA headers, Velocity Tube all violate warranty
A dealership makes more money on customer pay than they do on warranty pay jobs. Ford gets discounted labor and discounted parts. You pay full labor rates and full price on parts.

Sycoholic,
How much deneid warranty claims do you see at where you work for after market modifications and/or alterations.
Will I void my transmission warranty by adding an after market tranny cooler?

They had no right to look in your center console so if I was you I would find another place to work on your truck. I had a problem with a tire dealership when I had my mustang I took it in to have a rotation done and well the dumbass looked in the center console and ashtray to find the wheel lock that was on the lug wrench in the trunk. Well they broke the ash tray door and they had to replace the center console since then I have gone somewhere else to have a rotation done.
Howdy All,

Thanks everyone for your help/support in this matter. I do not have the time or inclination to get into a legal battle with them. Service manager said if I returned vehicle to stock equipment they would work on it. As you can see by sig., this is not an option for me. I would just warn anyone doing "heavier" mods such as my headers, to be prepared for a fight with dealer/warranty issues.
As for the problem I am having: I don't seem to have a loss of power or excelleration, just an annoying "stumble" at low rpm cruising speeds (35-40 mph) I checked for vaccume leaks, checked pcv valve, tried moving computer wire harness away from AC accumulator (as described in another thread) all to no avail. I guess I will have to get codes read (not by them!) O2 sensor? trans sensor? I believe the problem is something along these lines.
Again, thanks for help/support

The tranny cooler should not void warranty, just don't go too big. You do want the tranny fluid to get up to operating temperature otherwise it will sludge up on you and ruin your tranny. And then they won't warranty your tranny.... I haven't seen Ford deny warranty work due to mods, cause they don't see the vehicle, the dealer does. We have denied claims due to aftermarket additions. We had an Expedition that wouldn't handle worth a crap. It had 4 blown shocks. Well, the shocks were aftermarket shocks since he had a lift on it. The lift wasn't the problem, we just don't warranty aftermarket equipment.
Hope this helps.

Sycoholic, thanks I was just wondering what you have seen or experienced.
I installed my transmission cooler today, I got a Fluidyne from Autozone and borrowed a flange tool to flange the existing metal lines to accommodate the hoses. All looks good I drove it 60 miles with no leaks and the line running to the radiator was still quite warm.

I got the void warranty thing too. Im completely stock still, but I took my truck in for its first oil change and I asked them about the superchip. They told me that it will void the vehicle emissions warranty and highly recommended not to get it. They instead suggested a new exhuast. I also asked them about changing the air filter, they said that was fine except that i shouldnt mess around with the air silencer thing or take out the whole air tube and replace it with a performace one. This may also void the warranty. I wanted my chip too, but now my parents won't get it, so ill have to wait a year for it. No chevy smoking for a while now.
