2004 5.4 :

So I go to change out the coil pack on #1 , and it comes off easy. But the new one seems to not want to go on - so I get a flashlight and look down the hole - and see what looks to be a metal clip around the spark plug. Is this normal ? Am I seeing things ? I have changed a lot of spark plugs over the years, but never on this truck. Here is a poor photo.


What am I seeing here ?

 

That looks like part of the coil.
