New to the site and forums all together. Just looking to get some help here. I have a 2004 Ford F-150 4x4 5.4L. Has been running and idling real rough and shakes. Took it to autozone today for them to pull some codes. Came up with 9 error codes: P0353, P0351, P0354, P0356, P0357, P0358, P0352, P0355 and P0171. All the codes before the last one are ignition coil codes, I bought an in-line ignition spark tester to test them myself. I didn't get around to checking them all as it got too dark but out of the 5 I checked, the tester showed they were working. I'm just wondering if the tester might be bad or if there's some underlying issue going on here that I'm not aware of. Sorry in advanced if there's already a forum that goes in depth on an issue like this, like I said, new to the site and forum sites in general.

Quick question, which makes me feel like an idiot but if I've tried to check the coils before by pulling the connector while the engine was running would that make codes appear for misfires for the coils I pulled while the engine was running?

 

I would think so - if that's what you have been doing I'd clear the codes and see which ones come back.

 

My Delphis are installed and I have all 8 working OEM cops still. Are they worth posting on CL?
