Engine Dieseling Clatter

Hello All,
I just changed my oil with Mobil 1 5/20 High Mileage on my 2008 F-150 5.4 V-8 with 120000 miles and I am getting loud engine Clatter at low RPM's, what is the problem? Thanks in advance for any help given.

is this new? since the oil change? There are cam phasers and such in that engine that can make noise like your describing. What oil filter did you use? those engines are very picky about oil and filters..

Clatter

Heads up on that clatter... I just dropped a valve on mine, what you say sounds the same. If you dig into it right away you may avoid what I am doing now and that is a new engine.

You may need thicker oil to keep the pressure up for the cam crap.

using the wrong oil might make the sound quiet temporarily but it will kill the 3v engine pretty quickly.
