I don't think Ford is giving new engines just for customer satisfaction, I bet they are only doing it at first for lack of parts. Eventually they will save their nickles at your expense and try to stick you with remanufactured, the warranty says they can. They would have stuck me with a Reman Tranny at 5,200 mi on my Expy, but supposedly lack of 99 cores made them ship new. Dealer claims it's new cause tag on tranny did not have RM at end of Part No. Paper work lists as RM since it was built at Remanufacture plant. I inspected before installation and no bolt mounting marks on case convinced me it was new, but now I wonder was the converter new? how about all the insides? My recommendation is don't settle with something you know is inferior. They need our business again more than we need them, heck......Chevy's aren't that bad...just 2nd or 3rd.
