Benifits from upgrading to an aftermarket throttle body?
I asked this question before in someone elses topic and got no response yet so I will make my own. Will a bone dry stock 4.6 V8 benifit from an aftermarket throttle body? The one im looking at is made by Edelbrock and its a 70mm piece.I am also wondering if it could hurt my engines performance sense I do not plan on adding better heads or camshafts. Can it cause my spark plugs to burn out or foul out? Will it make a big difference?I am also wanting a Super Chip to go along with it.
From what I have read on several boards and dyno tests, there is little to be gained by adding a larger throttle body on most near stock engines. Dyno test have show at most 5 hp gain on most stock Mustangs. So for the price it probably isnt worth it. Just my opinion.

Hope I saved you a few bucks. The superchip seems to be about the best bang for the buck except nitrous. If I was just looking for HP for street racing N20 is the way to go. And I have used a larger TB on a 4.0 Ranger.

Im not really into racing anymore,I bought my 98 F-150 just to cruise in because it rides like a car and has a great body style, and I dont believe in buying a full size truck with a V6,however some people say the 4.6 isnt much better,I dont see anything wrong with it but it could be a little more responsive off the line and mid range area.I dont want to spend much money on the engine so better heads and camshafts are out.I will go with the SuperChip, something I was going to do anyway.THANKS AGAIN!
