I have a 2000 exp with a bad 4.6 engine and a wrecked 2002 exp with a good 5.4 engine and transmission. Can I swap engines, transmissions and exhaust systems. Will I need to swap computers also. Both are single overhead can engines. My local ford dealer says nothing will work without changing wiring harnesses and all electronics ; did not reccomend it at all not worth the trouble. I need help from someone who has done it or knows what they are talking about; help please I' m in a bind here.,

 

You could for sure swap the engines pretty easy. Just use the 4.6 wiring. the other stuff might not be easy. The 5.4 will run with the 4.6 computer but a custom tune will make it run better.
