P0171 Code - Hose Part Number?

Hey guys.

Other day driving home from Home Depot I got a CEL. Code read P0171.

Truck was still running and acting normal. Went home and found this hose that appears to be collapsed.

I am guessing this could be the cause. That sound right?

Possible cause of P0171

Anyone know the part number for this hose?

I assume they are pretty easy to change.

Please don't mind the filth.

Dang. I was hoping someone would know. Maybe you would at least know what the hose is for so I can try and look up the information.

Looks like standard straight hose. Pull it off and take it to the parts store and get a new one cut from the rolls of that stuff they carry.

Thanks glc, I may do that. It's my only vehicle right now so I was trying to plan ahead. But may do it at parts store parking lot haha.

Think this could be my cause for the P0171 CEL?

Would be nice if you can tell us what's at each end of that hose. Can't really tell from that pic.

glc - That's my issue I think. I'm not real sure.

I can try and take a few more pictures from different angles to see if that helps. Back in a few with those.

Okay here are several other images/angles.

And even those the code says Bank 1 (passenger side) could this still be the issue or should I start looking for something else as well?

Need any other pics? Thanks. Appreciate the help. This is a much cheaper option than taking it to the dealer.

I think I may just end up pulling it off and trying to get a new one at a local parts store since I cant seem to find any numbers on it.

I'm guessing i may need some sort of lube to get the tube to go back on the fittings. Any kind in particular that i can use or should stay away from?

I use 100% coolant (antifreeze) because it doesn't harm rubber.

Well I went to Ford this morning to see what they could tell me.

They said it looks like someone just spliced a line and its not something they carry.

One end goes down to the valve cover, and the top part of the T goes to a fitting just above the supercharger.

I took the the hose off to inspect after going to Pepboys to see what kind of hose they had. It's 5/8" by about 15".

It looks like the line has oil in it. Or at least the ends look like it had oil in it. Nothing poured out or anything.

Could the previous owner (or tech) that put the Roush in spliced a line that provides oil to the valve cover for the supercharger..

I'm not even sure if that is what is normally done or how it works.

If that's the case, this wouldn't be the cause of my P0171 code then.

The only thing the parts store had in that size hose was a Dayco Heater Hose in 6' length. But it said "NOT suitable for fuel or oil transfer."

-- Guess the thread title needs to be changed now. Since this doesn't seem to be my issue anymore.

I did clear the code using my ScanGuage after replacing the hose. I've only driven about 5 mi so far but the code hasn't come back on yet.

I assume if it stays off that actually did fix it?

As cheap as heater hose, fuel line, is, just replace when it needs to replaced. Should last for years. You can also buy pre-molded (by-pass hoses) for those 90' turns. You can buy hose off a round up to 30 ft. at most auto part stores, (Napa) not the big block auto parts stores.
