survey: 5w-30 or 10w-30

survey: 5w-30 or 10w-30

what year is your f-150? engine? oil?... i have a 97 w/ 41k miles, should i be using 5w-30?

'99, 4.2L, Mobil1 5W-30. Will probably go with 0W-30 this winter.

I read some where that all ford motors up to 00' should now use 5w-30. I believe it was a TSB.

I have always been told to never use 10w-30 in place of 5w-30.

My dealer services my truck so I really don't know what weight oil they are using at present. I wouldn't be surprised if they're putting in 5W-20 which is fine with me. It's what Ford says is ok to use in my '99.

2000, 5.4L, ONLY 5W-30 oil (Mobil 1). I would never use 10W-30 in my truck.

99, 4.6 Mobil 1 5W-30, 23,000 mi. Plan on switching to 0W-30 post warranty.

Maintenance manual says use 5W30, that's what I've always used.

'97 Romeo 4.6L, 5w-30 Valvoline Durablend Oil. Manual says 5w30, thats what my truck gets... 133,000 miles and running strong....
