starter issues

Has anyone had and problems with there main starter wire connection.? Last night when leaving work all i got was a click while turning the key. I have the 5 speed so i just gave it a shove and jumped in and it fired up.(cool) This morning i got under the truck and found the main starter wire connection shot, i mean this is a cheap piece of crap that was installed there it is paper thin and was cracked and corroded badly. Something a little more heavy duty would have been the way to go but... noooo...
okay i feel better now. (if needed starter 284 dollars) (holy crap)

$284?!?! The local Murray's has them new from Master Quality (they're actually rebuilt, but they only reuse the casing and magnet... new armature, brushes and gears) for either $170 or $191 (depending on the born on date of the truck) but both with a lifetime guarantee.

If you want cheaper, the 1-year warranty ones are available through them for $101.90.

Just thought I'd pass the info.

I had the same problem last year, thought it was the solenoid but was the term. on the starter. Went to NAPA, got a copper one, soldered it, crimped it and its been perfect ever since.
I just wish I could isolate this damn squeaking when giong over bumps in the front end.
