Question Can Any One Help

MY FATHER HAS A 98 FORD F150 4.6 AND WHEN HE STARTS THE MOTOR HE HEARS A TICK LIKE A LIFTER TAPPING, YES IT HAS OIL IN THE MOTOR. ANY ONE ELESE HAVE THIS PROBLEM? :c

It could be a number of things. Could be oil that's not the right weight. Could be a faulty or wrong oil filter. It could be piston slap.

You need to post a bit more info for us to help you. How long does it tap after starting the engine. Does it only do it at the first start of the day? Is it worse when the weather is cooler?

If it ticks all the time it may be the injectors. my ranger was like that and I thought it was a lifter. Just one other thing to think about.
