low oil pressure will cause the cams to not advance. Thus keeping them at max retarded timing, and lacking power

That is my hope Patman. Getting the real oil pressure versus the in dash idiot gauge was the key to seeing the pressure was to low.

What are your thoughts on the increase in oil weight to increase the hot psi?

its not end of the world. I wouldnt run any heavier than what you have. Running heavier oil is really just a bandaid fix. It may only help delay the inevitable, and masking symptoms

And its possible you have a timing tensioner gasket that failed loosing pressure.

I am hoping that is not the case with the tensioners because they are brand new but I will keep an eye on it.

Yep the new timing set came with Tensioners and Seals/Gaskets along with all of the other timing parts.

The gaskets is a green o-ring type seal pre-installed on the back of the tensioners when the timing set came. You could take them off but they came in the back of the tensioners already.
