ready to order with x-plan
ready to order with x-plan
Ok, I signed up at EAA, got my pin numbers and dealer is on board with x-plan as long as I order a truck and not buy one off the lot. I will be getting a 4x2 supercab, xlt, class III tow, 3.55 ls, but I don't know what engine. I now own a 93 bronco 5.0, 3.55. I tow a 2500 lb camping trailer and if this engine was still available I would buy the same drivetrain.
Question- Does anyone have experience comparing 5.0 vs 4.6 towing 2500 lbs. or more?.
BTW thanks to all who pointed out EAA x-plan

hmmmm ,
Never heard of that... I got mine Right off the lot and as you can see in the pic I have and the pics in the gallery.. it is a Nice truck...that is funny... BTW For your info X plan may not always be the way to go...it saved me like 3 thousand on my truck BUT when my girl friend was looking for a turck we looked for like a month walking in and out of places all the time and then one day I was looking in the paper here in TEXAS at planet ford and they were offering a $5000.00 OFF MSRP. Lets put it this way we were there that night and added another 2001 FORD F-150 the the family of 7 2001 Fords makeing 8 all together... So just keep looking I cant tell you that to much UNLESS you can just afford anything out there...But let me know how it goes I would like to know when another Ford family is BORN....LOL that is my $.02

LOL I read the question half @ss. I have a 4.6 and it is GREAT but I hear everyone say that 5.4 is better I dont think it is THAT much of a diff. I think I read that the 5.4 has like 20 more horsepower but in my opinion you can just reprogram or get a chip for the extra 20 hp...dont get me wrong I think about what a 5.4 would be like but I guess that will be in my lighting in 2 years when I trade this truck in on the RCO...
JOBEONE,
THE ONLY REASON FOR ORDERING A TRUCK FROM THE FACTORY IS SO THAT THE DEALER WILL MAKE MORE MONEY. THE LONGER A VEHICLE SITS ON A DEALERSHIP LOT THE MORE MONEY IT COST A DEALER. THEY GET LESS HOLDBACK AND OTHER REBATES FROM FORD. SO IF YOU ORDER ONE THE DEALER IS GETTING EVERY $$$$$ THEY CAN GET OFF THE DEAL. CHECK OUT THE YEAR END DEALS. I HAVE SEEN JUST AS GOOD A DEAL ON NEW TRUCK WITHOUT THE XPLAN RIGHT NOW. GOOD LUCK

The X-Plan is the way to go. I didn't know about it when I bought my truck, but my wife used her friend's x-plan when she bought her Mustang GT convertible. I will ALWAYS use the X-Plan from now on.
I think you will be happy with the 4.6L - it has more power than your 5.0 bronco and you aren't at a high altitude. You can save some major bucks over the 5.4L if you get a manual transmission also. The 4.6L is bulletproof reliable and has good power/torque.
