not the cam phaser

I have a 2006 Harley Davidson F150 with 90,000 miles on it. It started vibrating pretty bad after 20 minutes of driving while ideling. It's fine once it gets in gear. took it to Ford and they wanted $2200 for new cam phasers. took it to my mechanic and he replaced the solenoids and cam phasers for $400. Engine still does the same thing, but now the engine light comes on. Mechanic says its the timing chain tensioner now.

A few questions, if ford had done that work and it didn't fix the problem, would I have just been out $2200? Do I keep sinking money into this problem? I spent $3800 on a transmission fix, plugs and coil packs a few months ago. I've always loved F150's, but this truck has been full of problems.

If the CEL comes on, there's going to be a DTC. Did your mechanic read out the codes? If so, what are they? If not, get them read.
