I'm trying to help someone in another state. The truck is on the road at the moment and no troubleshooting has taken place yet. I'm looking for possible ideas to check when it gets back to the house in a bit. It's an 02 with a 5.4.

The description I got was there was a ticking sound coming from behind the dash area. Something like an electrical component cycling and making a ticking noise. He didn't think it was an exhaust manifold leak. The ABS light came on and the truck can't get over approx 30mph without running real rough.

The ABS light and rough running has me wondering if there could be a vacuum leak somewhere? If so....which one?.....the power booster hose?

Side subject: Some may have already seen this. It is a listing of 2002's that spit a plug. Quite a few fires too.
