Red face Thanks for the info.

No question that synthetic oil is better then dino oil in those very "extreme" situations. If I lived in an area of the country that dropped below zero in the winter, I'd probably run the stuff too. Don't know too many places that get over 300 degrees. And if you mean the oil temp, then you've got more problems if your engine is at 300 degrees!

For my own situation, I just run dino oil and change every 3k miles. Works for me, and I sleep just fine at night.

If running synthetic makes you sleep better, great! That's all that really matters anyway. If you run your rig hard, tow, live in extreme weather, etc. synthetic would be a wise choice. For 90% of everyone else.............. Whatever makes you comfortable!
