Is it even possible?!?!

I have a '10 F1 and was wondering if I could change the heads on my 5.4 from a 3 valve to a 4 valve?? Didn't know if there is an adapter plate or it's a direct bolt on. I wanna do some motor work and wondering what type of gains/problems there could be?? I'm guessing that a set of 4v heads r gonna run me a pretty penny.

The 5.4 3v has variable cam timing. Ford's 4v 5.4 is straight up OHC motor. I guess anything is possible, but i'd think its not worth the hassle for basically no gain.

You'd be better off doing custom tune, and axle gears to add some more pep

or if your willing to spend the money, just supercharge it. the mustang guys like to take the gt500 supercharger from the 5.4 gt500 and with an adapter plate it fits their 4.6 3v. not sure if the gt500 supercharger would direct fit the 5.4 3v or not. if its possible that would be a cheaper route to go.

i know the old harely davidson edition f150 5.4's used to be supercharged, i think that was the 2v though.

or just buy a full kit for the 5.4 3v from someone if you want fast and easy.
