So I have a 99 for 5.4 and I'm having a issue with it not firing like normal.. I usually have to crank it for a couple seconds stop try and again stop and try again then it usually fires but if not I crank until it does. It sometimes drains the battery but so far I've changed the fuel filter and gonna do a fuel pressure check and see what it says I'm thinkn it's possibly the fuel pump idk if it's been changed so just trying to figure this out

 

EGR could be stuck open, any codes?

 

Do your fuel pressure check. Without real data, you are just guessing.

 

No codes at all.. i got to find a stupid adaptor for the pressure gage as soon as i do I'll update

 

Although when i bought the truck the owner said that the egr occasionally sticks and a tap a few times frees it.. i may have a bad egr I'll check it tomorrow morning
