Question Oil Analysis

Does anyone do oil analysis with their trucks?

I would like to know if you do who you use, I am going to start using analysis for my 1997 4.6l and am checking out a few different company's and would like to hear comments on this subject.

Thanks

Michael

Thumbs up

Yes, I have oil analysis done on my truck. The very first one, I had pulled about a week after an oil change. There after, they're done every 3000 miles right before the oil change. My husband works for Catapillar and he pulls the sample and sends it in to their lab in Raleigh. Only takes a few days for it to come back. The report is very informative and the back explains all the codes. Also, my reports show previous reports for compairson. One note: when my husband pulls the oil out, the hose from the sampling kit was just to big to go down the oil filler tube. He ended up haveing to clean the drain plug and get the oil from there.

Tina: What has the analysis shown? Even though yours sounds like it has been free, would it be worth it to pay for it?
