Champion 9406 as alternative?

Hey guys,

Quick question: I see a lot of you are using the 7989 plug with good results. I was about to purchase this plug when I noticed on the Oreilly's website that there was an Iridium plug for my '07 5.4 three valve engine. It is half the cost of the double platinum 7989 plug. Has anyone had any experience with these? Are they also a one piece design? Please note that I did a quick search and was unable to find an answer to this question. Thanks for any help that can be provided!

Hi.

Sadly - Nope. Completely different plug. Their info is incorrect.

That is a 14mm seat; '04-->early-mid '08's use a 16mm seat, with the extended ground sleeve.

Looks like this is for the later heads --> late '08-->'10 5.4 3V's. It's a MC SP509 equivalent 1-piece plug

If you want a 1-piece that is platinum for your heads, only one choice :7989.
