2006 4.6 Ticking Noise

Hi everybody, I would appreciate any feedback on this. 2006 4.6 F150 4x4, ticking noise, was told it was leaking exhaust gasket. Pulled a trailer with another vehicle on it for about 200 kms. Ticking noise got louder, started idling rough, backfiring and missing. threw codes p0300, p0304, p0303. Tore apart front of engine and found 1 chain loose on driver side. Pulled tensioner and will pick up another one tomorrow to compare. Question is, do these chains stretch? I don't want to tear apart any more than I have to.
Thanks

sometimes the gasket on back of chain tension-er is bad causing it to collapse or it could be low oil pressure from something else.

Found the problem

Replaced both chain tensioners, no change. Pulled right side valve cover and found two rocker arms? (cam followers?) were out of place. Removed holddown plate and found rubber gasket material plugging oil restrictor gallery. put it all back together and the noise disappeared after about 10 minutes.

Yep, That was the problem if a piece of RTV or other debris blocks the restrictor you will lose oil pressure to the cyl head and the lash adjusters will lose their pump allowing the followers to pop off. Good job
