Help please....trouble code P0443
Update: So I ordered a used PCM and while waiting for it to ship, my check engine light turned off. (CEL bulb is ok, still flashes on during bulb check at start up) Hooked up the code reader and no faults indicated. Any explanation for this?......did i finally drive enough cycles to satisfy all the monitors in the PCM and the fault has indeed been corrected via replacement of the CANP valve?
Just had it read again.....no codes, no CEL, no P1000.....but the reader gives a yellow light instead of green with the EV monitor flashing, so the evap monitor has not yet been satisfied. what do i have to do to satisfy the evap monitor?
Maybe your code reader isn't capable of displaying a P1000.
Getting the evap monitor satisfied can take a long time. There are some specific drive cycle parameters that need to be done, and if you leave it to chance it can take a month.

With a good code reader U can tell which test have passed the EVAP and which tests are still pending. After a time the pending may pass or a pending will once again turn on the CEL. Usually 50 miles and all the tests will complete if U have a 1/2 tank or so. When U use UR code reader to reset the Cell should not come on if UR pending tests are in question until after a pending does not complete tests satisfactorily for the EVAP. Make sure U do not have a small vacuum leak in there. UR PO443 means UR circuit is bad, check connections to the PCM. It is most certainly bad. Maybe simply a burned resister on it. U may be able to see the burned area in it when U remove it. The zero ohms on the tester is an awful sign of char in the circuit due to the smoked coil U tested. Infinity on the coil test would have been much better signifying an open instead of a shorted condition. Shorted condition fries semi conductors immediately. There is the reason for the Cel and codes. failed Electronics. As the resistance fell due to the short more current would be allowed to flow thru the PCM circuit to ground damage to its internal parts. Remember most controls of the engine and transmission pass thru the ECU's to ground. The last thing in the line so to speak and point to it.

Most testing authorities allow one or two incomplete monitors. Check with them before making yourself crazy trying and waste time and money get the EVAP monitor to run.
