1997 f-150 4.6L

i have a 1997 F-150 2wd Ext cab short bed with the 4.6L Vin code 6 Windsor motor. with a 4R70W auto trans 8.8 rear end with 3.55's and LS.

for the past while my truck has been running like CRAP not waiting for give any power above 2,000 RPM runs great off idle to 2,000 after 2,000 lean pops and what not. then when im doing 35-40mph and let off the gas the right side pipe throws out flames from time to time *had a friend following me*

put a Fuel pressure tester on it yesterday Key on Engine off 40 lbs.

Running 33lbs. unplug Fuel reg vac line 39lbs. Freeway driving at 78MPH was sitting right at 36lbs then if i gave it a little more would go up to 41lbs.

so i have pretty good fuel pressure but i think i know the prob....

I noticed my sub woofer stopped working so i went to the main feed line were it draws power *Primary 12 volt feed to fuse box under hood is where it is hooked* so i poped the fuse box only to find SOLID green EVERYWHERE!

Here are pics of the under side.

That black wire with an orange tracer any guesses what thats for? if you guess fuel pump you are right!!! many other pins look like that or worse!

Also my coil packs have come loose and in trying to fix them 3 bolts on each side broke. so only having 1 bolt holding on each coil pack is not giving them a good ground. making it run like crap as well.

Question 1. Do they sell this direct fit fuse box for my truck?

Question 2. do they sell the coil pack brackets?

Question 3. if after 2,000RPM my truck lean pops why when i let off the gas does it shoot a flame out the right pipe?

Thanks all! could really use a big hand on this one.

For questions (1) and (2), try junkyards.

For (3), have you done a compression test? It could be sticky or burned exhaust valves.

i do have a tester but have not done one. could it be the o2 took a crap in the right pipe? or maybe my coil packs not making a good ground?

If it has a Ford part number, it can be had somewhere. Do the compression test.

well somthing fun happend last night. i turned on my E-fan and all my gauges normaly just turn back to blue. but last night they stayed there normal color. after about 5-10 seconds they faded to this very dim red color. and my e-fan doesnt work any more....

my Gauges pull power off the coil pack fuse. my E-fan has a wire direct from the battery with an inline fuse *Have not check the fuse yet but im 100% sure its blown*

my question is why if these 2 pull power off very diff spots does the E-fan effect the color of the gauges?

Why the heck did you have your amp hooked up to something not the battery directly?

If you go to a junkyard, that's instant acquisition and you know for sure that it's right!

Was it still fused at least? I didn't think you could get enough power from a non-direct source.

Yes it still had the big inline fuse for the main feed wire it was 6" off the main fuse box power.

This would never have happend had i put the inner fender back on after long tubes....

That's good!

Why didn't you put them back in? I contemplated leaving them out after I did mine, then decided it was best to put em back in lol
