your stock 5.4 brand new was putting down 260 at the crank, and around 200 at the wheels.

Even getting to the 400hp mark would make the truck feel totally different.

If I were going custom I'd do 5.0 with 6spd auto with long tubes, boss intake, and a tune

I would love to run a BDS blower with the bug catcher sticking out of the hood for ****s and giggles, but I think using the truck to pull the boat or go on longer trips would be out of the question, not to mention the fuel economy, or lack thereof. But I can dream can't I?

In all seriousness, I want to run a supercharger and around 400HP. I'm just trying to find the best way to do that. I like the idea of a block rebuild with forged internals and running a lightning whipple SC kit. I was just looking to see if any crate motors would bolt right in without too many complications in case I wanted to go with a 5.0 for aftermarket availability reasons.

you wouldn't need a whipple to make 400 hp, and honestly a 3.4 or 2.3 at low boost will be less part throttle responsive than a lil' Eaton M112

Well, I'm leaning STRONGLY towards getting a complete block redo and all new components including heads, so going to a lower compression to run more boost is not an issue. I'm also looking into adding a 50-75 wet shot of nitrous later on strictly for the occasional track use. Should I take anything into consideration for a dual power adder system like that?
